Home Pickup Plans and Municipal Drop off Locations

Our convenient door side compost pick up service makes composting your kitchen scraps hassle-free and easier than ever. From individual homes/apartments to townhouse communities to entire municipalities, we have you covered.

What Drives Us

There's a better place for your organic matter. When organic matter is sent to landfill it emits harmful methane gas that contributes to global warming.

We have a better solution and the resources to make it happen. Neighborhood Compost is a women-owned organics hauling service and family farm in New Jersey. We help our neighbors and places of business close the loop between food disposal and cultivation through our organics hauling service and regenerative agricultural practices.

Did you know? In 2019, 66.2 million tons of food was wasted and only 5% of that was composted.

Since 2020,
We have diverted

≈ 400,000 lbs of waste

FROM LANDFILLS IN THE GARDEN STATE

That's equal to conserving 396,800 miles of gas driven by a car.

You give us food scraps

& we grow fresh food

Once we receive your scraps, we feed viable materials to our livestock, after all they are the best composters.

Nearly 70% of water and 33% of croplands are used to cultivate food to feed livestock. We offer a solution to decrease this together.

Residual scraps and manure from our livestock is composted in large, aerated, windrow (long oval shape) piles. Over the course of several months and "turnings" (for aeration), and monitoring, your food scraps are transformed into nutrient-dense compost that we then use to cultivate crops in our market garden organically. Circularity achieved.

Our Farm

We practice regenerative agriculture on our family farm. Soil health and circularity is at the foundation of everything we do.

We work in harmony with our livestock to fertilize and shape our land. Our central focus is to "up cycle" materials, waste as little as possible, and regenerate new ecosystems any and everywhere we can.

Our farm has blossomed into a sanctuary where we root ourselves in educating and connecting with our communities.
